'I'd be happy to fork out more for food'

I Am curious to know if anyone in the upper echelons of the chain of command has ever considered asking soldiers how much they are willing to pay for food served in barracks? Personally, I would be happy to fork out a reasonable amount from my wages - perhaps the equivalent of what a single civvy would spend on a month's shopping -if it meant getting a better standard of food and service. Most of my colleagues would agree as we tend to eat out in local restaurants or order meals in as a result of not being happy with the quality of the Pay As You Dine (PAYD) facility on camp.
