EXISTENCE OF EXTRUDED LANDSLIDES ON ODESSA SEASIDE SLOPES

Complex investigations, which include the following, are described: in-office study of numerous geologic sections of Odessa seaside slopes, and visual observations at points where holes were drilled into the slopes; and, laboratory investigations of the physico-mechanical properties of the soils residing in the body of slopes and beds. A conclusion is drawn concerning the absence of formation of extruded landslides in the slopes of the Odessa shoreline under the action of a pressure gradient due to the weight of the overlying stratum of soils.
