PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To predict the generation of ground displacement by a landslide and a slope failure such as a surface failure on a slope with high precision by simple measurement.;SOLUTION: The concentration of specific ions such as sodium ions, sulphate ions and the like contained in groundwater in a district in which there is the possibility of the generation of the ground displacement by the landslide and the slope failure such as the surface failure is measured periodically. When the change of the measured value is observed continuously, a precursor in which the ground displacement is generated by the landslide and the slope failure such as the surface failure is predicted when a suddenly rising change is recognized.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
