This book is a collection of scripts to perform a variety of useful actions. It is not, however, a tutorial on shell scripting, so readers will need some other reference on that if they are not already familiar with shell scripting languages. There is a "Chapter 0: A Shell Scripts Crash Course," which might get one started enough to make the rest of the book more immediately useful. On the other hand, if readers are quite familiar with shell scripting, then this book may not have a lot for them. I think the book would work best for someone between the two extremes of brand new and experienced.
