The resurrection of the ancient statute known as the Sunday Observance Act has caused some dismay to manufacturers throughout the County of Glamorgan, where the authorities have been most persistent during the last few weeks in harassing small shopkeepers. The Glamorgan County Council, who are mainly responsible for this, have, however, met with stern reproof from quarters where least anticipated, and it is most interesting to record the observations of the Merthyr Stipendiary Magistrate (Sir Marchant Williams), when recently adjudicating on a batch of cases for Sunday trading at Mountain Ash.
