Susan Leigh Star (1954-2010)

It is with extraordinary sadness that I must write that Susan Leigh Star died unexpectedly in her sleep of unknown causes on 24 March 2010. With Leigh's death we have lost a brilliant and original thinker, who brought us concepts that traveled through and across disciplines and gave us tools to render often invisible phenomena visible - especially those leading to injustices. As a community, we have also lost a great teacher and mentor, and, for many, a great friend.
