Nev. Legislature passes bill to retire coal plants,shift to gas and renewables

The Nevada Assembly, as expected, late June 3 passed S.B. 123 nto set into law NV Energy Inc.’s plans to accelerate the retirement nof 800 MW of coal-fired generation and replace it with 550 MW of nutility-owned gas-fired generation and 350 MW of mostly merchant-produced renewable energy resources.
