These notes refer to the two mystery photographs placed in the May/June 'Journal' on pages 134 and 135. The location is High Peak Junction. The DMU is on part of the triangle outside Buxton. It has come from Buxton Midland via Ashwood Dale and is taking the spur travelling from Buxton Junction (on Millers Dale to Buxton line) to Peak Forest Junction and on to Chinley on the Millers Dale to Peak Forest line. The building in the background is the former lime kiln at ICI's Buxton Central Quarry. This limestone plant is featured on p.54 of 'London Midland Steam in the Peak District' published by Bradford Barton.
