NYK BLUE JAY: 14,000TEU containership

NYKBLUEJAY, an advanced 14,000TEUcontainership, entered the NYK fleet on 22 February 2016 following delivery at Kure Shipyard of Japan Marine United. It is the first of a series of 15 vessels under construction based on data from the operation of the Far East - Europe route. The vessels hull form allows for improved cargo-loading efficiency, mainly through minimising engine-room space, while the complete ship design allows for containers to be loaded in 18 rows and 11 tiers in the cargo holds and 20 rows and nine tiers on deck.
