In this paper, full scale measurement analyses of 14,000TEU container ship were carried out and the results were compared with the results of the previous numerical simulation studies. As a result, it was found that:1. Results from full scale measurements well verified the phenomenon that double bottom of larger container ship responds to forced vibration due to whipping as observed in theoretical studies. From full scale measurement time series, we can find that not only the longitudinal bending stress component σ_g and the double bottom bending stress component σ_l are generated in almost the same phase and superimposed in both the wave response and whipping response, but also the relative magnitude between σ_g and σ_l is almost the same as that of numerical simulation.
