A new study reveals that 50 percent of government information technology leaders are considering cloud applications-a notable increase from just 12 percent one year ago. Conducted by Lockheed Martin and its Cyber Security Alliance partners, the study explored comfort levels, cloud engagement and plans for cloud application migration among 196 members of government and industry. Researchers found that despite an increase in government adoption of cloud computing, two-thirds of participants still have major security-related concerns. In addition, 75 percent identified issues with dependability, availability and the ability to continue using existing applications.
