Defining cyberspace in physical terms can be a self-defeating exercise. The digital world-a term used loosely-knows no physical boundaries, despite the best efforts of totalitarian states to isolate their citizens from its influence. However, it may be playing an increasing role in reshaping geopolitical borders as digital commerce brings nations closer and aggressors seek to use cyber operations to gain control over other nations' territories.
