Ride-pooling - a model for success? Digitisation in local public transport

摘要

The aim of this paper is to provide a critical examination of the new possibilities for the individualisation of local public transport offered by digitisation and to discuss the viability and sustainability of ride-pooling concepts. Ride-pooling concepts, also called Demand Responsive Transportation, are digital mobility concepts with a high degree of spatial and temporal flexibility which bundle the transport requests of different passengers in real-time. This paper analyses the current market development and, in doing so, demonstrates the potential of such mobility concepts.
