Dredging up new ports

Last year the veteran grab-hopper-dredger Hebble Sand (1963/757gt) completed major work at the Louth fishing port of Port Oriel. The 700-tonne capacity dredger, owned by Dundalk Port Co, has recently been working in Dublin. The 45-year-old vessel, built at Richards Shipbuilders of Lowestoft, removed aggregates and sand from the construction of a new bridge across the Liffey at Sir John Rogersons Quay.
