Russia's sovkomflot, therncountry's biggest shipping company controlling over 120 vessels, is preparing to take delivery of its newest ship from the Admiralty Yard in Sankt Petersburg. The 70,000-dwt ice-protected tanker Mikhail Ulyanov is one of Russia's new generation of Arctic tankers that will be used to transport crude oil from the Prirazlomnoe field in the Pechora Sea to terminal facilities located outside Murmansk.rnProduction start-up at Prirazlomnoe has undergone several postponements but it is now expected that the Gazprom-rnoperated project will be in production by 2011. The field, located in the ice-covered Pechora Sea, will be Russia's first offshore oil field in production in what is know as the 'High North' and the 260m by 34m Mikhail ulyanov will be one of a number of ice-class tankers serving the facility.
