Subtitled 'The late years of P. & A. Campbell Ltd Passenger Steamship Owners', this well-produced hardback book describes the history of P. & A. Campbell with an emphasis on the company's latter years of operation. The first 52 pages describe the background of the company, after which the book focuses on the years from 1958 up to 1980, when Bristol Channel operations ceased. It thus covers the end of the paddle steamers, and ultimately of fleet operations, until only Balmoral remained. Waverley debuted in 1979, and kept cruising going until 1986, when Balmoral returned to service.
