Ocean Life falters off India

Blue ocean cruises' new Indian venture came to an abrupt end on 16 November 2010, when its newly-refurbished Ocean Life (I981/12,811gt) developed a crack on the port side of her hull, which resulted in water penetrating a number of lower cabins and causing the ship to list several degrees. She was only 90 minutes into the return lee of her inaugural cruise from Goa to Mumbai with 401 passengers and a crew of 134, none of whom were injured during the incident, which occurred 17 miles out to sea.
