Fleetwood-Lame service closed

Almost immediately after acquisition of the two Norfolkline Irish Sea routes was confirmed, Stena Line announced closure of its own three-ship Fleetwood-Lame service, with final sailings taking place in the evening of 23 December 2010. Stena bought the route from P&O in 2004 and continued to run the existing vessels, which became Stena Leader (1975/12,879gt), Stena Pioneer and Stena Seafarer, the trio built in Hamburg by J. J. Sietas for Stena Roro. With Stena Leader already taken out of service, Stena Seafarer covered the last sailing from Larne, while Stena Pioneer handled Fleetwood's final departure before the two joined Stena Leader laid up in Belfast.
