Aircrafe carrier Hermes in India

Of all the former Royal Navy warships serving overseas, the most famous is the aircraft carrier Hermes. Laid down during World War Ⅱ in 1944, her construction was suspended at the end of that conflict. It was later decided to complete her as a modern ship with all the latest technology, including an angled flight deck, steam catapults and the latest 3-D radar. Commissioned in November 1959, she was the last conventional Royal Navy aircraft carrier to be completed.
