A ship-naming ceremony was held at Hyundai Heavy Industries Shipyard in Busan, South Korea on 3 December 2014 for two Singapore-flagged LNC newbuilds, BW Pavilion Vanda and BW Pavilion Leeara. The new LNC ships meet eco-friendly specifications and can carry almost 162,000 tonnes of LNC, helping to ensure Singapore's future energy security as they make deliveries around the region. They are jointly owned by Pavilion Energy and BW Group, who formed a partnership in May 2014 to acquire, manage and charter maritime LNC assets, including LNG carriers. BW Group's LPG carriers remain busy, with the BW Liberty (54.975dwt), which was built in 2007, being a frequent visitor to the river Tees; she was trading in Brazil at the turn of the year.
