The port of Galway on the west coast of Ireland is at the heart of Galway City's economic and social development. The port is expanding, and now operates under the auspices of the Galway Harbour Company. The number of ships that visit is increasing, with a good variety of types to be seen, from coasters to cruise ships, as Brian McGrath's photos show.
