THE SHRINKING MEDITERRANEAN

While the Mediterranean is a favourite cruise destination with all the major operators, a number of problems exist in the region. The first major itinerary difficulty was the inability to use certain ports due to military conflicts. Another problem is terrorism, which has meant the whole of the Black Sea, Istanbul (and some other Turkish ports) and most of the far Eastern Mediterranean are off limits.
