Maintaining lifeboats and davits

Shipowners and operators need to take several steps to ensure compliance with the amendments to Chapter Ⅲ of SOLAS which come into force on 1 July 2006, and with MSC1093, which is a guidance note amplifying SOLAS requirements. Together they introduce a new, clear and safe inspection and maintenance scheme for lifeboats and davits.
