Market fails to quell ASRY ambitions

2008 was a stellar year but this year has been difficult for Bahrain's Arab Shipbuilding & Repair Yard (ASRY). Speaking during a press briefing in London last month, ASRY chairman His Excellency Shaikh Daij Bin Salman Bin Daij Al-Khalifa told journalists that the first half of 2009 was acceptable but the second half had been a different story with shipowners doing only the minimum required to maintain their ships.
