D-i davit international-hische's new model ALH.23 Automatic Release Hook can be used with davitlaunched liferafts and is manufactured in accordance to the latest SOLAS and Marine Equipment Directive requirements. It Supports a weight up to 2.3 tonnes (23kN) and can be handled easily by one person. For maximum ease of maintenance, all parts of the hook have been carefully chosen from the best marine environment-resistant non-corrosive materials, d-i states. Over recent years, the Company has introduced a new generation of powerful winches for installation aboard large cruise vessel newbuildings. The winches have the capacity to hoist boats weighing up to 50 tonnes. Such lifting capacity is now required by cruise customers because the size of lifeboats has increased so much on many of today's latest new cruise vessels. Some lifeboats can carry up to 400 passengers each.
