Coast guard milestone and new lift ship from US builder

Bollinger Shipyards and the US Coast Guard celebrated a production and relationship milestone in November 2003 with the delivery of coastal patrol cutter Sea Lion, an 26.5m Marine Protector class vessel. This is the 100th patrol boat delivered by Bollinger to the USCG, the yard having supplied the entire current patrol fleet that includes 49 of the 33.5m Island class and 51 of the 26.5m Marine Protector class vessels (a further 26.5m vessel was built for Malta). 'We are extremely proud and deeply appreciative of our dedicated, skilled people who have accomplished this feat and all of the Coast Guard personnel who have worked with us as partners from the initial contracts as an effective team to help us achieve this significant accomplishment,' said yard chairman Donald T 'Boysie' Bollinger.
