The US Coast Guard has conducted a safety inspection of Sempra Energy’s Cameron LNG with the Louisiana-based project on schedule to receive feed gas during the first quarter even as one of the builders reported cost overruns

The inspection came even as one of the project’s builders,McDermott International said during its quarterly earnings call that it had incurred a $168 million charge for cost overruns.The $6 billion project,located in Hackberry,Louisiana,is expected to produce about 12 million tons of LNG per year(1.6 Bcf/d).
