Damen delivers first-in-series tug to Egyptian Navy

Damen Shipyards Gorinchem has successfully delivered the first of four tugboats to the Egyptian Navy. This is the second time that Damen has delivered tugs to the Egyptian Navy and represents a significant contract for the shipyard group. Sales manager for North-East Africa and the person responsible for the project, Ronald Maat, has said about the continued relationship with the Egyptian Navy: "In 1982, the Egyptian Navy purchased four Damen Stan Tug IV model tugboats from us. These tugs are still in service after all these years, which of course tells the Egyptian Navy something about the quality of our vessels."
