Shell signs MOU with Dubai Maritime City

Energy major Shell's aggressive push to enhance LNG bunkering availability in key global locations has reached the Middle East, following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Dubai Maritime City (DMC) cluster. As a result of the agreement, Shell met with representatives of Dubai Drydocks and Maritime World (DDW) in mid-September, to discuss opportunities for promoting the adoption of LNG as a marine fuel in the region, including the construction of a turret mooring system for the floating LNG facility at DDW's Dubai site. DMC and Shell are now working towards the formation of a joint working committee, to further develop such opportunities.
