Schottel releases NAV 200

As 2013 drew to a close, Schottel formally rolled out its latest all-in-one propulsion system, the NAV 200. An adaptation of the manufacturer's Rudderpropeller (SRP) system, the NAV 200 incorporates a diesel engine into the package, plus a switch cabinet with various electrical and electronic monitoring devices. The base frame of the NAV 200 accommodates the fuel tank, which has a 600litre capacity, and the overall system has been developed to a mobile design, to simplify maintenance; for instance, shipyard staff can bolt the system onto a foundation before commencing repair work or checks. The system is suited to a range of small boat applications, including barges, workboats and ferries, Schottel says.
