A partnership between technology group Wartsila and yacht designer Stefano Pastrovich has devised an environmentally friendly boutique cruise vessel, combining cruise ship-style construction techniques and passenger amenities with superyacht levels of luxury. The proposed vessel will utilise hybrid propulsion and solar panels to minimise its carbon footprint and grant it access to eco-sensitive areas that might, in regulatory terms, prove off-limits to larger cruise vessels. Dubbed the X-Boutique, the cruiser will comprise a 60m catamaran capable of accommodating up to 36 passengers: this being the upper limit in order to comply with the Passenger Yacht Code.
