The USV design philosophy is driven by the need for simplicity, redundancy, reliability and maintenance. Rules and regulations for marine autonomy are currently evolving and a risk-based design approach has been adopted for the design of spaces, stability, propulsion, fire, ballast and cargo-handling systems.
