The involvement of pharmacies in offering non-invasive sexuallyntransmissible infection (STI) testing is considered importantngiven their presence in the community, long opening hours,nand credibility as health-care providers and promoters. In thenUK, pharmacy-based distribution of chlamydia self-collectionnspecimen kits was successfully trialled, in over 200 Bootsnpharmacies in London in late 2005.n1,2nClients aged 16 years andnover in theUKmay nowpurchase the specimen kits andmail theirnurine sample to the laboratory for testing.n3
