Restructuring of Fare Policies for the Urban Transportation System in Athens

摘要

This article focuses on fare structure and fare products that were implemented in Athens' urban transportation system over the last 10-year period. It presents and evaluates the fare policies adopted, aiming at the assessment of their impacts on transport operators' financial results. The article suggests an alternative approach in the design and implementation of fare policies/products grounded on users' traits and attitudes instead of trip characteristics.
