Gallium arsenide (GaAs) products have participated in fueling the explo-sive growth and higher bandwidth demands created by the internet and telecommunications by providing wide bandwidth and high speeds of up to 10 Gb/s. But while the advantages of GaAs are well docu-mented, the manufacturability of this noteworthy material has pre-iented roadblocks creating a 30-year label of being the "material of the future."
