Few people question, as we make our way into 2010, that this will be a better year for the semiconductor industry than last year. The uncertainties that linger, however, have more to do with the question: Will it be enough?rnAt SEMI's Industry Strategy Symposium (ISS) in January, several speakers voiced their concerns about manufacturers' seeming lack of willingness to hire back employees, and questioned whether they'd be prepared for the considerable recovery that the industry is likely to see, in the coming years (see "New Productivity Fears in the Face of Recovery Optimism," p. 8).
