REDUCING THE RISK OF WHALE-SHIP STRIKES

摘要

A workshop held in the Canary Islands in October 2012 aimed to address the issue of ship-strikes of whales. A key part of the programme was looking at ways of developing a training programme for seafarers to educate them on actions that can be taken to reduce risks to whales and other protected species from maritime transport, while improving industry safety and cost-effectiveness.
