Halul Offshore Services ceo Vivek Seth believes the current offshore slump may hold growth opportunities for the Qatari shipowner/operator as it modernises and expands the capabilities of its fleet. Along with many other offshore operators around the world, Halul is currently taking delivery of a fleet of high-end vessels to fulfil demand expectations from before the oil price drop. Local oil major Saudi Aramco in particular was expected to grow its chartered fleet of around 200 vessels considerably, notably in the Red Sea, but its plans are currently on hold.
