The Coast Guard has decided to dissolve its Deployable Operations Group (DOG), citing concerns over organizational structure, cohesion and effectiveness of operations. The service's Deployable Specialized Forces (DSF) -which include National Strike Force (NSF) units, Maritime Safety & Security Teams (MSSTs), Port Security Units (PSUs), Tactical Law Enforcement Teams (TLETs) and a Maritime Security Response Team (MSRT) - will continue to operate under the DOG umbrella until the service determines where to locate each unit. The Coast Guard said no timeline has been established for disbanding the DOG. The service, however, plans to transition equipping, training and administration of all DSF to standard Coast Guard support processes to fully integrate them with its other capabilities.
