Fifteen NATO and two partner nations, and more than 6,000 maritime, ground and air force troops, participated in BALTOPS 2016, with exercises in Estonia, Finland, Germany, Poland, Sweden and throughout the Baltic Sea. 1. Mine forces found real unexploded ordnance while searching for practice mines. 2. Three quiet diesel submarines provided realistic anti-submarine warfare training. 3. Three amphibious landings in different environments helped build and maintain "amphibiosity."
