The Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) is the next-generation ground combat vehicle for the Army and Marine Corps. It is designed to offer greater off-road mobility and superior protection. The JLTV is being produced as a two-seat utility version and a four-seat general purpose, heavy gun carrier or close combat weapons vehicle. The JLTV will replace large portions of the "Humvee" (HMMWV) fleet in the Army and Marine Corps. The $6.7 billion firm-fixed-price contract covers three years of low-rate initial production and options for five years of full-rate production, as well as eight years of sustainment services. It covers 16,901 vehicles. Procurement is planned at 49,100 vehicles, including 5,500 for the Marine Corps.
