As researcher, theoretician, colleague, educator, and mentor, Edward Teller influenced every field of physics. His contributions to the fast-growing fields of nuclear physics and particle physics were part of the Golden Age of Physics, in which discovery after discovery produced an increasingly clearer picture of the nucleus and the fundamental interactions of the subatomic particles contained within the nucleus.
