Irrigation drainage and countermeasures against damage from brine are the main techniques for improving arid soil to make it fit for cultivation. R&D into soil improvement agents, which chemically improves the properties of soil, are also underway.rnThe first thing that needs to be done when embarking on land conservation with the aim of cultivating plants is to improve the efficiency of irrigation for supplying water to the fields. Drip irrigation is one of the most suitable methods for irrigating arid soil, which features limited water supply and a poor water retention. This method supplies drops of water to the roots of the crops via tubes - just like an intravenous drip - allowing irrigation with a small amount of water.
