摘要

Stone disease has afflicted humans since antiquity The stones are formed when urine becomes concentrated. Certain substance like calcium oxalate, phosphate and carbonate, uric acid or cystine in the urine leaves small residue crystal along the inner surface of the kidneys. The application of the various methods of remedy of urolithiasis were found to be unsuccessful in preventing the recurrence, which is quite high, as they can act only upon the persisting stones in the urinary tract. So, these methods give only a quick but temporary relief to the patients suffering from renal stone. Designing out a suitable physiologically non-toxic compound which could selectively complex the metal ions present in the urinary stones and result in the formation of aqueous soluble species would be an important breakthrough in urinary stone dissolution. Experimental models namely 'Simultaneous flow static model" (SSM), "Simultaneous flow dynamic model"(SDM), "Reservoir static model" (RSM), "Reservoir dynamic model" (RDM) were designed. The main objective of this article is the chemo dissolution of urinary stone by means of nicotinic acid which is a good inhibitor for calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate and calcium oxalate mineralization. An attempt has been made to show the role of nicotinic acid to act as inhibitor for this endemic disease.
