PUBLIC HEALTH RESOURCE ALLOCATION THROUGH GOAL PROGRAMMING

In this paper allocation in public health sector is discussed using the Goal programming technique. Decision-making is difficult and models are needed to analyze the effect of heirarchical decision-making under multiple objectives. The special supplemental food programmes for women, infants and children (WIC) was first authorized as a two-year pilot programme. The aim of WIC is to reduce infant mortality and promote proper physical and mental development of children through better nutrition. The Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) prepared by each state must use at least one health status indicator and at least one economic indicator as measures of "need" for each county.
