Hepato-toxic Effects of Cypermethrin on some Bio-chemical Parameters of Anabas testudineus

Locally procured laboratory acclimated fish Anabas testudineus were exposed to sub-lethal dose of cypermethrin 25% EC (Emulsifiable Concentration) for a period of 30 days. Periodical estimation of total glycogen, total protein, total lipid and total cholesterol from the liver of experimental and control fishes were done on the 15th and 30th days of exposure. Standard biochemical methods were followed. The results indicating toxic effects of the insecticide were analysed and discussed in the light of available literature.
