IMO in hot pursuit of pirates

The IMO is seeking official sanction for foreign warships to pursue into Somali waters any pirates who are menacing merchant ships. IMO secretary-general Efthimios Mitropoulos has asked the UN Security Council to seek Somali Transitional Federal Government (TFG) consent for the move.
