Container guidelines receive support

Guidelines issued late last year to encourage safer container shipping have been well received, according to the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS). The next step in the long march to improve safety will be to promote awareness of best practice in the industry.rnSafe Transport of Containers by Sea - Guidelines on Best Practices was put together by an expert working group and launched in December 2008 by the ICS and the World Shipping Council, which represents a substantial proportion of the world's container lines.
