SIPSA builds bridge simulator

Argentina-based Servicio Integral de Practicos (SIPSA) has become the first training centre to build a VSTEP full mission bridge simulator running VSTEP's Nautis maritime simulation software. Buenos Aires-based SIPSA has built a realistic bridge with 270-degree field-of-view using nine LCD TV screens and is applying for DNV Class A certifi- cation to allow STCW-compliant training, VSTEP reported. "Apart from the SIPSA simulator we now have a considerable number of orders, ranging from software only, for trainee and instructor stations, up to full-size simulators," a VSTEP spokesman told SASI.
