Lifeboat service stations are provingrnincreasingly popular according to providers, and expanding global networks mean that they can offer greater efficiency and cost-saving. Evidence of the trend came when Schat-Harding announced in early January that it had opened a new lifeboat servicing facility in Shanghai, China.rn"By performing the work in-house in our own facility we will not incur delays at the yards when requiring crane or workshop assistance," Andrew Lemmis, managing director of Schat-Harding LSA Service (Shanghai), told SASI. Without the need to travel to service sites and "with everything available under one roof," from parts to engineers, "the service duration can also be more efficient," Lemmis noted.
